Hanging out with family

Ryan in the hotel room at Swissotel The Stamford
We had a busy Saturday with guests in town. Richard's dad had a medical check-up and Richard's sister (Margaret) needed to have something done at the bank, so they drove in and arrived just after midnight on Friday. We had supper at Boon Tong Kee Little Gourmet. Although the restaurant is within walking distance of our house, the only times Richard and I go there are when we have guests. It's quite good actually.

After supper, we checked them into the Swissotel The Stamford and everyone had a good time catching up. By the time we got home, it was almost 3 am.

On Saturday morning, everyone split up to do their own thing - Margaret's family had breakfast at the hotel while Richard took his parents for breakfast at the market. Ryan and I stayed in slumberland at home. After breakfast, the adults split up to go to the doctor and to the bank. I went to the hotel with Ryan to babysit Margaret's three children, which was really easy because all I had to do was whip out the iPad.

We met back at the hotel for checkout and had lunch at Szechuan Court. Then, there was some casino time at MBS for Richard's parents. Margaret's family went shopping for their own iPad.

Ryan went for Playclub as usual in the afternoon. Safina had a chat with me about Ryan's progress (a follow-up from the feedback I gave for Parent's Chats) and we agreed that Ryan is doing well in Playclub and that he's enjoying himself. I do notice that he is a little slow to warm up to the Mandarin teachers. They really love him so much and keep trying to catch him for a hug. I might think about getting him more exposure to Mandarin next year.

Everyone met up again in the evening for dinner at Ah Yat Seafood Restaurant in Mohamed Sultan Road. Richard's parents footed the bill, courtesy of their big win at the casino. Maybe I should say the casino footed the bill, hahaha!

Anyway, after a good meal, it was goodbye and see you again!
