Saturday

Ryan started a new term at Edudrama today. This will be his last term at Julia Gabriel as we are not keen on moving to Forum (for the English classes) or to Rochester Mall (for the Mandarin classes). He was very happy in class today, prancing about, making lots of comments and laughing out loud.

We spent the afternoon at home. In the evening, the weather was quite cool so we hopped in the car and popped over to Punggol Park for a little playground time.

We remembered to bring Ryan's little car this time, which rescued me from some calorie-busting weight-lifting.

It must have rained earlier because there were puddles in some of the slides. Richard had to lift Ryan off the slides once he got halfway down. Ryan decided to focus on climbing instead.

Plus some number-tracing on the hopscotch.

We had dinner at Wild Oats. This was Ryan's pre-dinner entertainment - matching the upper-case and lower-case letters.

A quiet, relaxing Saturday. Just the type we like.

Saturday evening at Punggol Park

In late July, we met up with some friends for dinner at Punggol Park. It was our first time there. It looked like a nice place, but I was still pregnant at the time and feeling very tired, so we didn't walk around and explore it. We promised ourselves that we'd be back and, last Saturday, we made good on that promise.

The park is a lovely green space with a large lake in the middle, where you can rent a kayak or a small boat to cycle in the lake.

We spent most of the time at the children's playground. Ryan went sliding ...

... climbing ...

... rope walking ...

... more climbing ...

... and more sliding.

Some counting (and hopping) too!

Ryan also went on the swings with Richard, but it was too dark to snap a shot by that time. After that, we had dinner at the restaurant in the park, Wild Oats, before making our way home.

Weekend update

We've been having a few lazy weekends now. The weekend before last, we were in Vietnam, and we spent half the time in the hotel room, just lazing about. Last weekend was not very different! Ryan went for all his classes and in between we lazed about at home and took long naps.

We were up late with friends on Friday night, and only got to bed close to 2 am. Woke up early on Saturday for Edudrama and in the afternoon, the three of us napped for three hours, before dragging ourselves out of the house. We met up with some friends at Wild Oats in Punggol Park for dinner. Sunday was more of the same - there was swimming and Shichida, and Ryan and I went to bed at 9 pm. Glorious.

One piece of bad news - our cat Tiger was hospitalised for a bladder blockage. He went in last Thursday. His condition has been improving steadily, and hopefully he can come home today.  We miss that grumpy grouch!

In other news, here's something that Ryan did recently - a weaving activity with strips of paper. This is the first time Ryan attempted weaving and Richard and I helped out a lot. Not bad for a first attempt and I'm sure he'll get better at it!

My mum is here for about a week, which is one reason why the blog has recently been all about our trip to USA - no time to write proper posts! I've also been trying to get all the posts on the trip done so that I can move on to other stuff. Just one more post to go and normal transmission will resume!

Hope you lovelies had a lovely weekend.
