No, not Ryan's hair, MY hair. That's just a photo of Ryan waiting for me at the kids' corner at Great World City while I (finally) got my hair cut short today. After years of having long hair, it is a refreshing change for me. Although I have, on and off over the years, tried to persuade my stylist to give me a short bob, she has always been of the firm view that I must have long hair and she has refused to cut it any shorter than two inches past my shoulders.
As it turned out, she (and I) had really no option this time - I've been dropping hair at an alarming rate since Ryan was about 4 months old. I'm surprised I have any hair left, really. My hair brush looks like it itself is growing hair.
The good news is that there is re-growth (phew!). In fact, I seem to be growing a fringe. So I thought this would be a good time to chop the rest of it off.
In other news, Ryan is spending more and more time on his hands and knees nowadays, although he is not creeping around yet. Most of the time he slithers about and spins around on his tummy.
This morning we went to the Audi service centre at Ubi to book a slot for our car servicing. While we were there, Ryan 'test drove' their Audi TT roadster.
For lunch, we went to York Hotel for their Penang Hawkers Buffet. This is one of our favourite buffets and we always look out for it. The last time we were there, Ryan was not able to sit up yet and he spent the whole time sleeping in his stroller. This time, Ryan had his own (baby) seat. We let him try the rojak (without the sauce), which was cucumber, mango, guava, turnip, starfruit, water apple (jambu air) and pineapple. He was so happy choosing from the plate (he tried everything except for the pineapple), picking each piece up and then licking, tasting, chewing, smashing and tossing each piece onto the floor. Half the time, he was shouting and shrieking his delight for everyone to hear.
Today, we celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary (which was actually yesterday) at PS Cafe in Dempsey. I ordered the mushroom soup and chicken rossa penne while Richard had the coq au vin pie. Ryan had the steamed carrots and long beans that came with Richard's pie. The desserts looked so yummy but unfortunately we didn't have any tummy room left after the mains.
